I am in need of more games and activities that focus on phonemic awareness to keep my 3rd and 4th grade students engaged while I work with them in small groups and help them all learn to read! Rhyming, such an easy concept that most of us take for granted is a skill my students struggle with everyday. This in turn makes it hard for them to read fluently at their grade level. My goal is to keep my students actively learning with essential hands-on activities. Rhyming helps early readers break words down to smaller words, learn word families, and learn the rhythm of the written and spoken word. The rhyming and vowel sounds' games, puzzles and activities that I am requesting are the perfect tool for my students to have fun and be challenged, and not even realize they are learning along the way !
