Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a charter school in Prince George's County.

My students are hardworking and resilient.

They work hard every day to work toward bettering their education. My students deserve the best and I want to give them the best.

I am a third-year teacher and I have already put so much of my own money into this classroom and my students. I want to give them everything they need to make sure they succeed in second grade.

My Project

Last year, I had a subscription to TIME for Kids! My students love reading the weekly magazines and learning about current events in a kid-friendly way. We enjoyed discussing the articles and furthering their understanding of the things happening in the world.

TIME for Kids is a great way for students to keep up to date with current events!

It is engaging and fun for the students to read every week. This subscription will allow each student to have their own copy of the magazine to take home at the end of the every week. They love taking it home and sharing it with their parents, too!
