Help me give my students many diverse opportunities to work movement into their day with wooden puzzle blocks, modeling clay, LEGO bricks, sensory fidget tubes, and more.
My students are active ten-year-olds who are always craving movement. As a class, we brainstorm ideas on how to integrate more chances to move in the classroom. With these brain break tools, my students will be up out of their desks and moving. These five- to ten-minute activities are a great way to wake up their brain. In this project, I included sculpting clay, 3-D building games, LEGO creative brick box, and books on adding yoga and mindfulness to our day. Each of these activities requires a short amount of time. However, the benefits are huge.
Movement will help them recharge and refocus on the lesson!
They are excited to increase their cardio and circulatory health while practicing brain breaks! Their brains work best when their bodies are moving. They are excited to get the opportunity to strengthen their muscles and improve their flexibility. Also, we have a beautiful "backyard" outside our room that would be a great place to wake our brains up!
