Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My role as a site coordinator at our Middle School is to remove barriers for the students and provide them with all the help that I can provide so they can achieve in life. Our middle school is a Title One school in Nevada where clothing, food, and assistance are needed. This year, our school turned into an all-uniform school. The transition was difficult for some families due to being unable to afford pants or polo shirts.

A total of two hundred and eighty-three pairs of uniforms were handed out at the beginning of the school year.

Being provided with these resources will benefit these students and families by ensuring that their student shows up to school with the proper attire. These students deserve to feel good about the way they dress and help them follow the dress code.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
