Tie Dye Celebration 2023

Help me give my students tie dye kits for a creative and vibrant way to celebrate the end of middle school.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The last "normal" school year our current 8th grade students experienced was in 4th grade. During 5th grade, in person learning closed due to the pandemic and many did not return to the school building at all during their 6th grade. Most of 7th grade was in person, but due to COVID precautions, many students, and at times, entire classrooms were quarantined for 10 days. Students returned this year to complete their last year of middle school, mostly in person. In a few months, they will be graduating and moving on to high school.

Our students worked hard and have been resilient year after year, having a fun social activity will help celebrate their determination, build a sense of community, and make lasting memories, in addition to creating their own tie dye shirt.

The tie dye kits will be used for students to each create their own tie dye shirt. The bags will be used for students to take their shirt home. Students will keep their tie dye shirts and will be worn to school as part of school spirit.
