My Project

My students need help getting motivated to be successful in math. I have implemented a ticket system in my classroom to help make this happen. Students can earn tickets for completing assignments on time, mastering a skill, tutoring others, maintaining their math notebook, or participating in math discussions at their table. The tickets are deposited in a jar by the door on their way to the next class. Every Friday I draw three tickets per class and the winners may select a prize from the prize box. Prizes include water bottle stickers, mechanical pencils, stuffed animal key chains, fidget toys, etc.

Students enjoy earning tickets and can't wait for me to draw names on Fridays.

They often ask if it is Friday yet and are quick to remind me if we haven't drawn. This system is working to build community and boost morale. We need help restocking our prize box and hope you will consider donating.
