Throw Us Some Shade for the Eclipse!

Help me give my students eclipse safe glasses to see the solar eclipse in April!

My Project

On April 8th, 2024, Cleveland will get a rare opportunity - we get to observe a total solar eclipse! Many total solar eclipses are only visible from certain locations. However, the 2024 eclipse will be visible in many locations across our country! Here in Cleveland, we will have a total eclipse. NASA has predicted that this could be the last visible solar eclipse that can be seen in a large area for the next couple of decades.

This solar eclipse will be a once in a lifetime experience for some of my students.

Having solar eclipse glasses will allow us to safely come together as a community to share in the total solar eclipse experience. With these specialized tools, my scholars will be able to observe the celestial mechanics of an eclipse up close, helping them have a deeper understanding of astronomy, Earth's place in the solar system, and the captivating wonders of the universe. They will learn about the science behind solar and lunar alignments, grasp the significance of these rare occurrences, and appreciate the importance of safeguarding their vision during such celestial phenomena.
