Three, Two, One...Bringing Morning Announcements and More to Our School
Help me give my students a green background screen and a Lenovo Chromebook that will allow us to create live audio and visual productions of our morning announcements and other special programs at our school.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from very diverse backgrounds and have different learning modalities. 50% of our students are African American, 45% are Hispanic, and 5% are Caucasian. 100% of our students receive free meals.
Like most, our students enjoy reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and our school's pledge.
Students are encouraged to learn these two pledges from memory at the beginning of the school year. Usually by the end of the first semester, they have mastered this skill so well, that they will even provide the segue statement used to transition from the Pledge of Allegiance to the school's pledge.
My Project
The acquisition of the green screen and the Lenovo Chromebook will help introduce our students to the world of broadcasting. The students will be able to produce their own news program to share with the school.
Having the green screen will allow students to use a variety of backgrounds like weather maps, landmarks, etc.
We will use the Chromebook as a teleprompter so that the presenter can read a script without having to look down.
We also have plans to solicit the expertise of professionals in the broadcasting field to help our students master the basic skills of presenting an online production.
