Three Little Birds

Help me give my students amazing backdrops, props, and artifacts to enhance our wonderful vignettes celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans in our BHM Living Museum and promote positivity

My Project

Our students "Rise up this mornin' and smile with the risin' sun." Our students notice the little things like "three little birds pitch by my doorstep singin' sweet songs of melodies pure and true." Our students race to school each day with pure joy and excitement to share with us and learn together. But some days as teachers, we must remind our students "Don't worry about a thing...'Cause every little thing gonna be all right," because they are faced with reality. They hear it on the evening news, they see it in their neighborhoods and they feel it in their daily lives. We try our best to help them understand, "Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (one love)." We try our best to help them focus, "There is one question I'd really love to ask (one heart)...Is there a place for the hopeless...Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own beliefs?"

Our responsibility as educators is to help the children to understand that they are our future and to"Teach them well and let them lead the way." It is our responsibility to "Show them all the beauty they possess inside and give them a sense of pride to make it easier!"

The amazing backdrops, props, and artifacts will be displayed throughout our BHM Living Museum. They will be used to enhance our wonderful vignettes celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans in our BHM Living Museum and promote positivity. They will teach us how different African Americans used their talents and gifts and how they made an impact on our lives. The BHM Museum is an opportunity to see ourselves through windows, mirrors, prisms, and sliding glass doors.
