Thanks to you, our students will get to see a fairy tale come alive before their eyes—and experience firsthand that fairy tales can come true, but \"you gotta make 'em happen; it all depends on you.\"\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, Trunk-or-Treat is more than just candy—it's a safe, joyful way to gather as a community, celebrate together, and spark storytelling through costumes and themed decorations. Your contributions—from the frog lanterns to the Tiana Life-Size Cutout Stand-up—allowed us to transform an ordinary car trunk into a royal fairy tale adventure. As Tiana says, \"It serves me right for wishing on stars—the only way to get what you want in this world is through hard work,\" and your generosity has helped our students see the magic that hard work and creativity can create.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our students were able to experience joy and pride in decorating and hosting a school-wide celebration, see how stories can come alive outside of books, build excitement for reading, and feel a deep sense of belonging and community. There's magic in the air tonight, and anything can happen.\"\r\n\r\nYour support has given our students magical memories that will last a lifetime, and reinforced the power of storytelling, imagination, and love in our school community. Historically, women predominantly created quilts and passed them down through the generations, but we will be fortunate to have the quilts we made as 2nd graders to share with our families. Just like the book's story and illustrations, they're excited to learn about counting, days of the week, food, and the life cycle of a butterfly. The \"Progress to Perfection\" t-shirts will help them to understand that learning is a process that takes time and can't be rushed. As they progress through the school year, they'll discover that their bodies and brains need time to rest in cocoons so they can grow and emerge. They'll learn about transformation and growth as they follow a caterpillar's change into a butterfly throughout the story. They'll learn about making positive choices to help them grow and develop. They'll discover that they'll all emerge from 2nd grade as beautiful butterflies. They'll discover their own transformation begins to take flight around January - it is around this time they start to emerge.\r\n\r\n\"Most children can identify with the helpless, small, insignificant caterpillar, and they rejoice with it when it turns into a beautiful butterfly.
