My Project

A writer's notebook supports the students' decision-making process by collecting all their thoughts, dreams, and ideas. A writer's notebook is a safe place for students to write more about their topic or ideas as they dig deeper into their experiences and thoughts. The notebooks also help students develop a catalog of what they've learned, compile strategies that have helped them to be successful, and provide a way for them to reflect back on everything they have learned. A writer's notebook is also a tool for helping our students write fluently and gain stamina as writers.

One of the biggest benefits of keeping a notebook is that it helps turn your ideas into actions.

It is one thing to have an idea pop into your mind, but when you write it down, it becomes an actionable task. Keeping a notebook can help you develop your ideas. Research shows that writing things down helps us to learn more than if we are writing on a computer. Handwriting is important for brain development and cognition.

Making notes about your preferences and experiences can help you turn your notebook into a personal handbook. Everyday children will have the time to jornal and write in their notebooks. You'll know yourself better and be able to make better decisions if you record your feelings and expectations when things happen. You're more likely to follow through on things that you write down.
