Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

These students are creative, funny, and risk-takers full of questions. They love learning through the use of technology, hands-on activities, and real-world scenarios. They are developing a growth mindset that will transcend many of the daily challenges they face and will face, as they grow older. These kids are nothing short of amazing!

My Project

I came across the book "Those Shoes" while doing some resource research. I know many of our students can identify with some of the characters of this book. In this project, I am requesting new shoes students can wear with pride. Every single pair of shoes will go to our students when they can not afford shoes of their own.

A new pair of shoes may seem like a simple gesture but a new pair of shoes can really support a student's sense of self worth, being able to fit in with their peers as well as allowing them to comfortably walk to school daily in shoes.

Unisex shoes make it possible to assist anyone in need.
