This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I work with come from a socio-economic background that can be best described as depressed. Each one of the students that I work with qualify for the free lunch program.
My students are the greatest in the world because they are always looking for ways to make the dark world a better place to live.
My students will achieve as high as the bar we set for them. Nothing is impossible for these students, even with their challenges.
My Project
Students in my classroom need the opportunity to tell their stories in more ways than just writing. Social empowerment is the change that will make the most difference for these students. Students no longer tell their stories that are often powerful.
Pictures are more powerful than written words.
These requested Nikon COOLPIX digital cameras will give my students the opportunity to tell their stories in a powerful way. Being able to apply these skills will help each student as they progress into middle and high school. These skills will help to give each child a voice that often goes unheard. This is learning in the most powerful way.
