My students never cease to amaze me! Their positivity and curiosity have no end, and I love seeing how much they grow and change throughout the year. I love the school I teach at; we have a lot of autonomy as educators, and I want my students to feel the same way. I try to empower them by giving them choices wherever I can. We strive to build classroom unity and find ways to build each other up. I'm always impressed with how much they go out of their way to help each other and create a safe environment for one another.
My students are special and unique, and so are their needs.
They are determined and hard-working; they persevere inside and outside of the classroom. I could go on and on about how wonderful they are. Really, I just want them to have the best because they are the best.
My Project
These materials will help my English language learners have access to materials in a language they understand. I hope to encourage some sort of connection to their culture while still allowing them to participate in what we are doing academically. Having books in their native language will help make those connections.
Individualized learning is a priority for my students.
Having access to headphones will allow students to have an optimal experience while using the online programs that promote individualized instruction.
While I am confident that these materials will aid my English language learners, I also feel that they will help my whole class. A love for reading comes from finding the right books, and I hope to help students find and cultivate that love through some of these books.
