This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Eighty-one percent low income doesn't mean 81% lack of motivation, or 81% unfit children!

Everyone told us that we would never win, that we were too poor of a school to ever win! This didn't stop us from working to be 100% active in the Governor's Physical Fitness Challenge for the last 4 year. Students changed their fitness and eating styles. Due to this hard work, they won the Governor's Physical Fitness Challenge and won a fitness center. Now, we work out in it, but the kids need to keep hydrated so that they can continue to work out. There isn't a water supply in the gym. It is absolutely necessary to have water available.

The kids need to have reusable water bottles so that they can fill them and freeze them the night before so they will have cold water daily. We also want to be able to track our heart rates, the monitor will allow us to check how they are doing.

We worked against all odds to achieve this fitness center. Your help will assure that my children can use the gym and not become too dehydrated to achieve their fitness goals.
