This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Coming into my second year of teaching in a low-income/high poverty school district, I feel my students have several disadvantages living in a low-income area. Many of them have not even been out of the small town they live in. So, I want to provide them with the tools they need to learn and see the world. Also, I have several students who are military affiliated, so they experience a lot of change due moving very often. So many of my students experience a high level of moving and change throughout the school year. Even though they face many challenges, I want to show my students that through learning and keeping things interactive and simple will provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

I am requesting 3 chromebooks for my 3rd Grade techies. I am hoping to eventually get my classroom 1:1 with a chromebooks. We are now well into the digital age and we use Google classroom for our lessons and activities each day. Currently my students are not able to complete assignments due to having to share a computer and wait until one is available. These Chromebooks allow students to have assess to Google classrooms, i-Ready, EdPuzzle, and Brainpop programs that work on reading and math skills, quizzes and assignments along with creating a digital portfolio. These Chromebooks will improve my students lives by allowing them to work more independently an improve the quality of instruction I am able to give. By donating to my project my seventeen 3rd Graders will be prepared for the ever-evolving technologically driven society that we live in.
