Children love to show off what they have learned! In our class, students are often the teachers and get to grab a colored pen and show what they know during Thinking CAP (Creativity and Presentation) time!
The diverse population at my school makes each classroom a special place to learn.
Students come from places such as Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Mexico so we all have a unique opportunity to learn about different cultures. Our school houses several programs that are designed to support learners requiring specialized instruction.
My Project
One of my favorite things to do is to assign projects that require students to work collaboratively. Having iPad Minis will enable smaller group sizes and equity among all students. Having smaller group sizes and fewer people to an iPad will allow all students to have access to using technology. Investigating common interests in subject groups help students get excited and motivate one another. As a result, students learn to speak and listen, ask questions, delve deeper into their passions.
Having enough resources changes the entire make up of the classroom.
During our weekly Thinking CAP (Creativity and Presentation) time, students can become investigators and then share what they learned. With the support and funding from Chevron, group sizes can be smaller and all students can increase their hands on time with technology. All students can put on their Thinking CAP and follow their innate passion to discover and share.
