Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Ninth and eleventh graders are my students. Every student needed a math notebook when the new school year began because they wanted to use their notebooks to solve problems independently. As a math teacher, I believe that having students solve problems in their notebooks instead of on their Chromebooks is the best approach to help them learn.

My objective for this project is to develop time management skills because they will need to practice a lot for the ACT and ACT ASPIRE exams.

Students will also create and solve problems in class with the notebooks. Since I teach in Yuma, Arizona, the majority of my students lack basic amenities like access to computers at home. At that point, this notepad will be of great assistance to them in reviewing and achieving the highest possible test score.

These notebooks will also help improve writing and reading skills. If their teacher gives them a new book for the upcoming school year, they will feel extremely special because some of my students struggle with even seemingly insignificant things.
