My Students

My students are like my family. They are so near and dear to my heart. My students are hard workers and love to learn! I teach at a Title I school with more than half of low-income families. My students enjoy hands-on activities, as well as exploring new ideas. I love them and I want them to help maximize their growth in the classroom to help make them successful adults. I need your help!

My Project

I like to connect writing to real world experiences by using cross curricular activities. This means students will be learning financial literacy and economics while also writing and developing good sentences. Part of financial literacy is being able to budget and think about if their plan is going to work. I often ask students to question themselves and think how can I do better next month, if their budget doesn't work. Most of my students are visual learners. They need to see it to learn best.

These notebooks will help support students' writing while incorporating financial literacy in our classroom by having materials for students to get their thoughts and budget on paper.

The materials will also increase students' skills in: vocabulary, creative writing, penmanship, and critical thinking skills.

The materials I am requesting will allow my students to have notebooks that they can use to think, question, implement, and create; which is what I am teaching during financial literacy.
