Think, Play, Share and Learn

Help me give my students the opportunity to learn math skills in a cooperative manner. The different seating options will allow for them to find a comfortable spot to work and play the games with each other.

My Students

My classroom of 20-24 students is a very diverse classroom.The students in my classroom are from many different cultures and a variety of backgrounds. They have a variety of needs and many different reading levels. My students are very diverse in their educational backgrounds and needs. They speak a variety of languages, and the English Language Learners population is very high. They require many different levels of books that are interesting and engaging for independent reading. My students love to read books.

All of my students love to learn and share their learning with the class.

Many are English Language Learners who learn best by communicating with their peers. They seem to learn best in small group activities and learning centers. My classroom is always full of activity and conversation.

My Project

The use of math games and resources will allow for students to work cooperatively during math workshop. The floor cushions and stools will allow them to sit comfortably while working together to solve problems. The number talk resources will be used to help guide them to share their thinking.

These games and resources will help my students learn to share their thinking and work together. These will also allow for students to communicate at their level. The students will be engaged in the math activities so that I can work with small groups during math workshop.
