Help me give my students a Breakout EDU Box so they can put their skills and knowledge to use in collaborative groups as they apply what they've learned in different subjects to customizable, standards-based puzzle experiences.
My class is full of great kids who desire to be the best they can be! They take responsibility for their own learning, set goals, and come up with ways to reach their aspirations. They are growing, learning foundational skills, and developing their ability to think deeply. I'm so proud of them for taking 6th grade on after the initial onset of COVID and dealing with distance learning. They've all experienced interrupted learning over the last couple of years, and yet they persist.
I want to take them a bit further with this project, and use it to help them develop their collaborative, problem-solving, and social skills along with their creativity.
With your help, I can make this a reality for them!
A Breakout EDU Box will enhance students' experience at school. There are puzzles and challenges that I can set up for my students in different subject areas to culminate any given unit. Students work on separate teams and against the clock to use the clues, their knowledge, skills, and creativity to solve each unique aspect of the box (think levels). Their goal is to unlock each piece and "break out" of the box.
Ultimately a Breakout EDU Box is a miniature academic escape room.
It is inclusive of all students as they have the opportunity to experience learning in a different way. Teams get a chance to apply the knowledge they have, and engage in authentic problem solving together. This box will be a game changer in my classroom!
