Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fantastic first grade students are wonderful, caring, curious students who want to have more science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics materials available in the classroom to use every day.

First grade students have a dream of a world filled with endless possibilities and I want to create a classroom where students are rewarded for thinking outside the box!

My students need to materials to help ensure that they can be whatever they want when they grow up. It is essential that I help them to achieve their dreams, but this requires more materials to allow for more creativity in our classroom.

Students at my school recite this promise every day: "I promise to make wise decisions, use kind words, show respect, take care of myself, act responsibly, notice good deeds, grow in community and solve problems." DonorsChoose is a way for my students to see that the world cares about them and their education! Every student deserves to feel valued and cared for. I know my school and staff do this in every way!

My Project

Let's get first grade students excited to learn through building collaborative projects! My students need LEGO creative and large boxes with baseplates to engineer projects. This project helps students learn by doing and creating projects that require working with others. These Legos and baseplates will used to create an interactive Lego wall and some baseplates will be able to moved anywhere in the classroom. Students will be able to create structures to explore the concept associated with building. This LEGO project will get students excited to keep thinking and learning with an emphasis on creativity.

Many of my students will grow up to have careers in science and engineering fields, it is important that I offer learning opportunities to learn more about these subjects.

It is such a wonderful time to be in education, classrooms are becoming a place where students race to every morning. My students know that everyday in my classroom is going to be different and a place where learning is fun. This will inspire to continue to keep learning and trying new things.
