DonorsChoose has been such a great help in making my classroom a place where students actually want to be. It's so nice to be able to hand out Jolly Ranchers or Scratch 'n' Sniff stickers for brilliant answers or kind behavior. The kids get so excited when we get new books to add to our classroom library. And when I need basic supplies like masking tape or paper clips, I don't have to ask the school secretary to order from the supply catalog (which is overpriced) and then use up my meager classroom budget on essentials.
I am requesting some new books for our classroom library and some reward items for students.
My goal is to send a positive note home with each student by the end of the school year. I frequently text parents to let them know how their kids are doing and they love this; I think it would be even more special to have a little note on cute stationery that they can save. The books I'm requesting are all books I've seen at the bookstore that I think my students would like. And I also need a few basic things like hand sanitizer, paper clips, and tape.
These items will make my classroom a happier place!
