My Students

My incredible sixth graders have began our WWII unit, which I do each year. We are in a title one school and don't have very many resources available, which mirrors the community in which my students live. None of them have seen a live stage production and I feel like The Diary of Anne Frank would be a perfect opportunity. According to the location of this play, you have to request tickets a year before to apply for school discounts, which I was unaware of.

These students have blown my mind with their growth this year and their motivation to go out and do great things.

If I had the money personally, I would have already purchased the tickets myself because they deserve the experience and learning opportunity. Please help me give them this particular learning experience that I know they will never forget.

My Project

Students have often asked me if history can repeat itself and I have always told them that as long as we learn about the past, and remember those who lost the battle, it can't. Not only would this experience be a fundamental piece of their WWII unit, it would help them grow as individuals. Seeing the horrors that went on less than a hundred years ago can be incredibly life changing as I have found in previous years teaching.

This incredible opportunity, one that they have never had before, is the only piece missing.
