My Project

The most basic way to prevent greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere (and warming up the climate) is by growing plants and I want my students to learn how to be stewards of the Earth by planting and caring for their own sunflowers.

Because of our location, my second graders missed the solar eclipse but they should not be forced to miss learning about Earth Day due to lack of resources.

My second graders live in an urban environment and they need to learn the importance of taking care of our wonderful planet. I am asking for some books about the Lorax and the environment. I am also asking for sunflower seeds and potting kits so my kids can learn to grow and care for plants.

I want my students to learn that everyday is Earth day and there are small things they can do everyday to show their respect for our planet as they learn about growing plants. I also plan to give each child a mini-Earth ball so they can remember the importance of caring for the Earth.

Our school has no funds for this type of creative project. Please donate and put my students on the path to becoming environmentalists and stewards of the earth.
