My kindergartners are eager to learn and explore. They love learning new things, and love working together. For most of the kids, this is their first experience with school. We are learning it all, academics, how to behave, how to make friends, and a love for learning. They are willing to try new things, and give it their all! These young learners love hands-on activities and stories that bring learning to life. I am constantly amazed by how much they grow.
My Project
These high quality picture books will help me improve my reading instruction for the winter months (December, January, and February!) Our school doesn't have a reading curriculum that meets the high demands of common core standards. Classic books such as The Snowy Day and new books such as Sneezy the Snowman will engage Kindergarteners in reading.
These books accompanied by engaging lessons will help improve my instruction and make reading fun!
Students will learn higher level comprehension skills through engaging read alouds with high quality picture books. These books will become familiar to students which in turn will help students develop deep comprehension and higher order thinking skills.
