Our library is a learning hub in our small, rural school of about 350 students. Here they are exposed to a variety of books, technology, activities, and resources to encourage their diverse interests. They are continuously requesting more and newer books in our library! When I can fill their specific requests, their excitement for reading grows and they are more motivated to read!
My students need newer, more up to date books about bugs, insects, their life cycles, and their habitats!
They ask me daily for new books about spiders, butterflies, insects and other bugs. They deserve the newest information and most interesting photos and illustrations to help engage and ignite their interests and grow their excitement for learning about these creatures!
Over 90% of our students are from lower-income families, single-parent families, and receive free lunch in our Title I school. A large number of our student population lives between houses of different family members. Our school is located in one of the most rural parts of our county and most are at least twenty minutes away from the nearest public library.
