My Project

The Kindergarten children at my school are imaginative, creative and fun. They love being outside and love playing together. Having an outdoor playhouse on our playground will allow the children to use their imagination and creativity through pretend play. Just like any home situation it will allow for opportunities of problem solving while children learn to share and work together while being aware of one's personal space. Playhouses offer a safe place to learn such important life skills.

The addition of an outdoor playhouse on our Kindergarten playground will benefit our students in many ways.

The obvious is that it encourages pretend play and imagination. But the benefits are so much more! Playhouses encourage children to organize and solve problems in imaginary scenarios. When children work together in a playhouse they practice sharing, being empathetic and being part of a family. Children use playhouses as a way to escape the academic challenges of the day, but don't realize that they are learning in other ways while playing. Play is the work of children.
