My Project

My students receive Rehabilitative Behavior Health Services also known as RBHS. I serve students in an elementary school setting whose population is 80% below the poverty line. Students receive free therapy which includes both group and individual therapy. Families also receive family therapy/support. I try my best to deliver therapy that is fun and captivating through games, books, and crafts. Students learn skills including learning how to cope, anger management, building self-esteem, and flexible thinking.

I would like to provide a safe, warm, and secure therapeutic environment for my students.

Children will have access to fidgets and sensory items to help in moments when they are feeling anxious or upset, in addition, the atmosphere will provide students with a sense of calmness. Items included in this project will be used to aid in the student's therapeutic journeys specifically the games and books. In addition, students will have an area in the classroom where they can utilize fidgets and other calm down tools. I want to provide an environment that is fun, calm, and kid-friendly as the students receive therapy.
