My students need putty, pencils, crayons and sight word crowns to help them learn phonics.
Learn to read and write is often a challenge when you do not speak the language of your peers.
I am fortunate to work with a diverse community serving students from all over the world.
We learn and celebrate cultures, languages and customs on a daily basis. These All-Day K students are highly motivated and love coming to school! Help provide creative materials like Theraputty, word crowns, colored and special pencils, so phonics can be easy and PHUN PHOR all!
By strengthening their fingers with Theraputty and letting them shape clay snakes into letters, stamp letters and words into the putty, these young learners will begin to develop important phonics skills. Each week, I will write a new sight word on the Word of the Week Crown and someone special will wear it proudly, to remind us how to read and spell it.
The play dough in the writing center is always popular.
With Theraputty, it won't dry out and crumble to pieces. We will be able to use it for years to come. Thank you for helping to motive these young learners to be successful readers and writers.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
