This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our high school is unique in that we have English Language Learners from around the globe, newly arrived to Minneapolis. They are experiencing their first winters, their first culture-shock, and their first time away from family and friends.

Our students have stories to tell and the writing materials I requested can help to encourage them to write, write, write.

I hope that the sensory stickers will help students to slow down and breathe when they need extra support. I hope the essential oils can help them to be calm, be focused and be present. And, I know that tea can help bring comfort on a cold day, to warm their hearts and souls.
