My Students
As a brand new first-year teacher, I couldn't have asked for a more capable or fun group of kiddos. My classroom is classified as a Special Day Class with a small class ratio structured environment. Most of my students have Autism or an Intellectual Disability.
With some students being impacted by the recent National Disaster of the Camp Fire, their resilience is truly inspirable. I love providing my students with new learning experiences every day that also meet their educational and individual needs.
My Project
Seasons, holidays, feelings, transportation, dinosaurs... We learn about it all in my Special Education Preschool classroom. My students enjoy learning about the different topics within our weekly themes. Learning about the seasons is fun. Leaves change color in the fall, and it snows in the winter which means we can build a snowman!
Every day we read books and with being a brand new first-year teacher, I am desperately wanting to expand my classroom library for my little readers. With a wide variety of thematic books, I would be able to provide my students with visual learning materials and develop their interest in literacy. We are so excited to get our hands and EYES on new, and fun educational books.
