My Project

What I love most about my English Language Arts students is the energy and curiosity they bring each day. My students are creative, inquisitive, and eager to express themselves through writing and especially drawing. They engage with new stories and relate to characters and places they have never seen.

However, for many of my students, anxiety and distractions can be barriers to their learning.

By providing calming tools and cleaning supplies, I can create a space that allows all students to focus, feel safe, and thrive.

The items I’m requesting will address two key needs: maintaining a clean, healthy environment and fostering a sense of calm. Cleaning supplies like sanitizing wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer will help keep our space free of germs and provide students with peace of mind, especially during cold and flu season. Our flexible seating options and the calming tools, like the calm strips, stress balls, and privacy folders, will create a soothing atmosphere where students can focus on their learning without feeling overwhelmed.

My goal is to create an environment that supports both the academic and emotional well-being of my students. By reducing distractions from clutter and anxiety, I hope to increase student engagement in reading and writing activities, foster a greater sense of safety and comfort in the classroom, and help students develop self-regulation skills that will benefit them throughout their educational journey.

Many of my students come from diverse backgrounds and face unique challenges, yet they show up every day ready to learn and grow. By supporting this project, you’re helping a group of remarkable students reach their full potential in a space where they can feel calm, supported, and ready to excel.
