I am a first grade teacher at a low income school. I typically have between 18 and 24 students in my class. I would like to assist my students in learning the writing process. I am very concerned with my student's writing abilities. Usually, the students at our school do not have a lot of time to write. However, they do have wonderful imaginations! All that they need is guidance in learning how to get their ideas on paper so that it makes sense to the reader. I want them to be excited about writing! There are many ways to encourage writing. For example, my students love to write in journals. I would like to supply those, along with some writing prompt journals. During Independent Work Time, I would like for my students to have an Instant Writing Center. This will give students time to work independently on writing skills that I have taught whole group. I would love to be able to have these supplies in the classroom for my students. I know that these supplies would really encourage my blossoming writers!
