My students need innovative 6Trait writing resources, writing activities, printer, and various colorful computer paper to enhance their writing skills.
The Write Stuff is a writing program I want to implement in my classroom. Historically the students I have taught have struggled to be inspired to write. These resources would spark the interest needed to write creatively.
My students are part of an urban school setting.
They have limited resources at home to enhance their skills in the area of writing. Part of our state testing includes a writing assessment. Every year it is a challenge to mold into proficient writers. Using the materials requested I hope to overcome this challenge for the benefit of my students.
My Project
The resources requested such as the books 6Trait Writing Complete Guide, 6Trait Good Writing, and 40 Reproducible Forms for the 6Trait Classroom, will be used to teach the writing process and implement 6Trait writing. The writing instruction will introduce a variety of genres and the activities will provide the necessary support. The Writing Center Tote will offer guidance during and after writing instruction. Using the Writing Center Management Chart and the Writing Folders will enable the students to focus and stay on track with their writing. Students will have the opportunity to use the computer to publish their final draft using colorful paper and the needed printer.
Through the efforts and use of donated resources students in my classroom would become creative, proficient writers that will benefit them now on their state assessment and in their future endeavors.
