"Strength lies in differences, not in similarities". This quote describes the students in my class who come from a variety of different cultures, backgrounds, and places. They love to learn, and love to apply their learning in a variety of ways. They also love to encourage each other to be the best we can be. Our school is a place where students feel safe and comfortable to take risks to grow their brains, especially as special education students. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I work hard to provide my students with a variety of opportunities for them to succeed and grow as an individual.
In the classroom, special education students can be frustrated and overwhelmed. However, they are extremely willing to learn. By providing students with fun interactive ways to learn, as well as collaborate, they feel more success in the classroom. This will encourage them to continue learning and foster their love for school.
My Project
All students learn in different ways, but especially special education students. The use of a dry erase table will help bring enthusiasm and excitement to our small groups. Moving from pen and paper to the innovative use of a dry erase table makes learning fun by creating an interactive setting where students can work out their problems.
The table will allow my students to collaborate better with their classmates and demonstrate their learning in a way that works for them.
The use of the dry erase table will help bring interest to math and reading, as well as reduce burnout during lessons. Instead of working on a worksheet, a dry erase table will allow me to provide them with personal examples, while saving paper. It will also give students an opportunity to be creative with the use of different color dry erase makers. Furthermore, this project can also help engage all learning types.
