My Students

Do you remember what it was like to spend hours reading through boring science textbooks, taking pages of notes, and answering long worded questions? Science can be so much more than that!

Our students face challenges everyday they are here.

For some, making it to school in the morning is their challenge. For others, making sure they have enough to eat in the morning so they can make it to lunch is their challenge. For others, they must overcome language and learning barriers. For so many of them, reading science texts that are multiple levels above their reading levels is not a priority. To them, it is a barrier that seems too high to traverse. And yet, it is what they are expected to do day in and day out.

My Project

A Chromebook will open a door for our students so they may access all of the thrilling science articles available online at their reading levels. They will be able to research and investigate the many different amazing science topics through a huge variety of science websites, such as NASA, Popular Science, or Science.gov. Science can be exciting again!

This technology will open the door for any student to become engaged in learning about our amazing world and how it works.

Science is so many things in our every day lives, and being able to investigate and learn through exploration is vital to our students and their futures.
