Help me give my students high quality book sets for small group instruction. These engaging book sets will be read in teacher led guided reading groups and will inspire children to really love reading.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need engaging books for small group instruction. These titles provide students with decodable texts, fiction texts and non-fiction texts in various levels (kindergarten to third grade). Each child will have a just right book that is neither too easy nor too challenging. These sets of 6 reading books will motivate students to work cooperatively together and be successful life-long readers.
These amazing books will make a huge difference in the lives of twenty amazing and awesome children. We would use the books every day during our one hour literacy block.
Children can also use these books for independent reading and partner reading.
My students are amazingly special in many ways. Many of the children are recent immigrants to California and this is their first experience in an American school. They are eager to learn English and become proficient readers. My goals for this project is to provide my students with high quality, multicultural books that inspire them to read!
These books will be loved by twenty second graders and will help accelerate their learning and close the opportunity gap. Thank you for considering donating to our classroom. My students and their families and I appreciate your generosity.
