The whiteboard has been super helpful in defining our Blocks and Library centers, letting students know the boundaries of these areas, and helping them to stay safe in their centers!\r\n\r\nSo far, we have used the whiteboard in the library for our magnetic felt board, where students are learning how to use props to retell familiar stories, which is a crucial skill for reading comprehension! We've also used the whiteboard to practice writing and identifying letters!\r\n\r\nWe look forward to planning lessons that incorporate the whiteboard into our Block center - students already love our magnet tiles, and building 3D structures with these on the new whiteboard is sure to be a super engaging activity! We also plan to teach students how to refer to blueprints as they are building their block structures, and our new whiteboard will allow us to do that!\r\n\r\nThank you again for your help in making our classroom a safer and more engaging space for our students. While we initially thought we would be using these items during our designated Sensory Coping center, the students have been so engaged with the items that we have incorporated them into all our learning centers throughout the whole day! It is awesome to see our kiddos so motivated by these items!\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest hits from this project is the calming sensory sea lamp. Every morning, you can find Room 5 students watching the lights change and move and listening to the nature sounds. Students have also had the opportunity to practice turn taking and sharing with this item, which is a crucial lifelong skill! Another popular item is the pea pod. We have this item in our library, and our students love to sit in the pea pod while looking at and listening to books. The sensory mats are another item from this project students frequently choose to use. They enjoy exploring the different textures, and the mats provide a great opportunity for the adults to model new vocabulary for our students!\r\n\r\nWe would like to offer a huge thank you for your contribution to this project! We're sure we will be using the items for years to come, and we are so grateful to be able to offer toys, seating, and activities that meet the sensory needs of our students. All students in Room 5 have had so much fun with our new outdoor learning materials! Some specific highlights have been the new materials for our sand table as well as the Froggy Jumper. Students have also had lots of fun exploring the tunnel! The students were immediately interested in the new materials and ran excitedly to see them the first day we brought them out at the end of last school year. They continue to show great interest now in the new school year!\r\n\r\nAlmost all of the students in our class need support in their motor development. With the new materials, students are learning to jump, catch, throw, dig, scoop, and move their bodies in new ways! At this young age, positive reinforcement makes such a powerful difference.\r\n\r\nWe recently celebrated the 100th Day of School, and students who were present that day had the opportunity to spin our attendance prize wheel and receive snacks and incentives from your generous donation. The excitement was priceless! Their smiles, cheers, and proud expressions truly filled the day with joy. For many of our students, that simple moment of spinning the wheel made them feel special and celebrated.\r\n\r\nWhenever students see me outside with the attendance incentives, they light up and immediately ask, \"When is the next event?\" It has created a culture of enthusiasm around coming to school. They are motivated not just by the rewards, but by the recognition and sense of accomplishment.\r\n\r\nWith limited resources, it has been challenging to consistently incentivize and celebrate our students. Because of your donations, we are now able to recognize their positive attendance in meaningful and motivating ways. Your support has helped us build excitement around showing up to school every day — and that foundation is so important at the primary level.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include continuing monthly attendance celebrations and schoolwide incentive days to keep the momentum going. Thank you for helping us create joyful moments that encourage strong attendance habits at such an early age. Your generosity is truly making a difference in our little learners' lives.","fullyFundedDate":1766555856379,"projectUrl":"project/show-up-for-success-incentives-to-boost/9697712/","projectTitle":"Show Up for Success: Incentives to Boost Attendance!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Oh","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9682697"},{"teacherId":375561,"projectId":9929913,"letterContent":"My students have been loving their writing boards.
