I have 22 amazing students who come to school each day eager to learn. I have a very diverse group of students coming from many different ethnic backgrounds that make our class an exciting place to learn! My students enjoy reading and playing fun math activities. The students in our school come from different income backgrounds as well, which puts our school poverty rate over 61%. This can sometimes make it difficult to meet the needs of every student. The faculty and I work very hard to meet all these needs throughout the school year!
My project is for a class set of novels of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda by Roald Dahl. I am eager to introduce my students to the wondrous world that Roald Dahl creates in both novels. I believe that both novels are perfect for my third graders. The characters in both novels are fun and exciting and will be easy for my students to relate to. Both novels will help expand my students' vocabulary while also expanding their imaginations. The themes and content in both stories are not only engaging but teach life lessons that my students can apply to their own lives.
"The books transported her into new worlds and introduced her to amazing people who lived exciting lives." ~Roald Dahl, Matilda
