Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
COBB 6th Grade Campus is a Title I school in which majority of our students are in free or reduced lunch. My students are excited to be in 6th grade and I would love to keep them motivated by providing them different opportunities so that they will continue to discover their full potentials. Almost 50 % of my students are LEP (Limited English Proficient). My students have been through a lot this school year after experiencing the catastrophic effect of Hurricane Harvey. Despite all the negative impacts of the natural calamity, they still eagerly come to school willing to learn and be better each day.
My Project
My students, most especially my ESL students need visuals that are clear. With the use of a black and white printer, my students would have a hard time identifying the images, and I would end up explaining the images rather than for my students to explore and identify the visuals themselves. Unfortunately, we are not provided with colored printer and ink. Most of the time, I would have to spend my own money; thus, it limits me to print colorful visuals as much as I want it. I do believe that the colored images will extremely inspire and motivate my students to perform better.
