This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a gifted and talented facilitator at a large school district in the center of our state. I serve students K-5 in my school. One of the joys of my job is that I get to work with all of the K-2 in my school. I go into the classroom to provide enrichment activities and lessons. We have 225 students in these grades. These students come from many different backgrounds from those that have a strong preschool foundation to those that have had none. This project will also support our students in gifted program in grades 3-5. By providing them more STEM based opportunities.Over seventy percent of our school population is classified as economically disadvantaged.

My Project

I introduced my students to the world of the financial markets last year, and they loved it! My goal is to give them live event learning opportunities that will impact them at a young age and get them on the road for a financial plan for their future.

My students are curious and competitive, so this learning opportunity should be a great way for them to learn about the wide, wide world of the financial market.

My students will learn the three strategies of investing which include buying what they know, tuning in to current events and also researching to make informed decisions.
