My Project

My students are smart, caring, and thoughtful. They love creating new worlds and filling them with strong characters. Though these students have many gifts, they are often hidden by destructive and harmful behavior. My students lack skills that lead to academic success. My job is to teach skills to replace these destructive behaviors.

My project is to help students have effective behavior change that leads to academic success and desired interactions with peers.

I am a behavior analyst that works with students with significant trauma and skill deficits. These skill deficits have a major impact and prevent my students from learning and developing appropriate relationships with peers. Unless these student's behaviors are addressed, they will continue on this destructive path.

These toys will create a highly motivating environment where I can teach students the necessarily skills to succeed in class and with their peers. Often times these students engage in behaviors that are harmful to themselves or to school property. For example, I will use these supplies to teach students how to appropriately ask for a break when a non-preferred assignment is given. This oftentimes is very difficult for my students and instead of asking for a break destructive behavior occurs. In order to teach this skill, we need items that are highly motivating. The items listed below are highly motivating for my students. With this items I believe we can have effective behavior change and academic success.
