I am an eighth grade literacy teacher in a Title one, high need, inner city middle school.
My students are reluctant readers who have a hard time finding books they enjoy. As we all know, the more they read, the more they will improve. They have found that urban novels are books that they can relate to. They are always asking for more. Unfortunately, the 4 urban novels that are in my class library are not enough to supply my 90 students.
I am asking for a selection of teen fiction urban novels to provide my students the genre they enjoy and feel confident reading. These books will touch the lives this year of 90 students alone!
Your very kind donation will help nurture a love of reading in these students who otherwise are forced to read books that do not engage them and that they do not connect with. Thank you in advance for giving each young man and lady the opportunity to develop a love of reading.
