Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Pre-K students are imaginative, resilient, and always excited to learn. My classroom specifically is a collaborative classroom where leaders with special needs are integrated with the general population. Along with the writing challenges most 4-year-olds face, some of the students in my classroom also struggle with sensory issues that make handwriting a hurdle that's hard to overcome.

With the multi-sensory materials you will be donating, we will be able to target the needs of every student in the classroom for years to come.

These engaging and exciting writing and fine motor materials will be used in direct instruction and in the students' independent centers. I know that these materials will give students the opportunity to explore forming letters and numbers in a variety of ways where they did not have opportunities before. I have also added a band that can be attached to student’s chairs to help alleviate any restlessness while they are sitting and writing or strengthening their fine monitor skills. This helps my students with autism, ADHD and students with sensory needs to decrease anxiety while doing difficult tasks such as writing.

With your help, you can encourage young, gifted leaders to tackle any challenge that comes their way and have a hand in revealing their unwritten stories.
