Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, creative, and full of energy. Each one brings a unique spark to our classroom, and they are constantly working to not only grow academically but also emotionally. Many of them are learning to navigate big feelings, social challenges, and self-regulation, skills that are just as important as math or reading. Our classroom is a safe space where every good choice counts, and I want to make those positive decisions feel meaningful and rewarding.

This project will give my students the tools to connect emotional learning with real, hands-on experiences.

With a sensory-filled treasure chest and over 1,000 engaging fidget toys and rewards, I’ll be able to recognize and celebrate positive choices in a fun, meaningful way. These rewards will reinforce behaviors like kindness, focus, responsibility, and empathy. At the same time, many of these items—like fidget toys—can help reduce anxiety, improve attention, and offer sensory support, especially for students who need a calming outlet during the day.

My goal is to build a culture of emotional growth and accountability, where good choices are celebrated and learning is joyful. What makes my students special is their resilience, their curiosity, and their potential to grow not just as learners, but as kind, thoughtful people. With your help, I can support their journey and make each good decision feel like a step toward becoming their best selves.
