My students need these tablets to help them continue to increase their technical skill set. In the ever advancing world of technology, it is imperative that students have learning experiences that expose them to tech.
My scholars are some of the most amazing kids you could ever meet. They truly enjoy school despite what may be happening in their personal lives. I just wish there was a way for us to take that joy to the next level. My scholars, for the most part, have been at the same schools since kindergarten, so there is a true sense of family that is felt in our room. They are constantly pushing each other to do better and be better. My scholars always come with a growth mindset even through some of their toughest times.
The scholars I teach have an everlasting thirst for learning.
At times when it is hard for me to keep going, their smiles and acts of kindness remind me why I do this work. Each morning they are reminded that they are on the road to 2031, their college graduation year. They have truly become invested in this idea. I could not have asked for a better group of scholars.
My Project
If this project is fully funded, my scholars will be able to use even more educational technology to grow the brains. Tools like Seasaw, Chatterpix, and Voice Thread work well with tablets. These are the sorts of tools scholars will use to demonstrate learning in reading comprehension and writing.
Furthermore, if this project is fully funded I would be to differentiate instruction for my diverse learners.
This population of learners thrive in the classroom when they have options of how they will demonstrate understanding of content. Using the tools listed above, I will be able to record lessons for students to go through at their own pace.
