Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students often ask, why is what I'm learning important? In my elective class, they apply the math and science that they learn. They work together in groups using technology to explore their lessons in different modules.

I teach in an urban Title 1 school in southern California where more than 65% of the students receive a free or reduced lunch.

My 7th and 8th graders are all great kids who have fun while they are learning the challenging material that applies their academics.

My Project

I am requesting flash drives to save student work on from day to day and lanyards to keep track of them; chairs to accommodate the growing number of students in my class as the budget crisis worsens; a door mat to prevent dirt from entering on student's shoes and to keep them from slipping on my tile floors when it rains; a magnetic skeleton to have a kinesthetic and visual to learn the skeletal system; and My Plate activities to enhance student learning in nutrition.

These donations will help to further engage students in the material of this exciting elective.

They will also keep the students safe and on task. My 7th and 8th graders are all great kids who have fun while they are learning the challenging material that applies their academics.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
