My students need an Epson WorkForce EcoTank All-in-One Supertank Printer, laminating pouches, and velcro tape to enable them to learn vocational skills and provide access to communication to all!

My Students

These amazing hands-on learners are working diligently on increasing access to communication for their peers! My students are in a 6:1:1 self-contained class in a specialized school, are alternately assessed and each has a diagnosis of Autism. They absolutely thrive when they work on meaningful, hands-on vocational activities that incorporate technology. They are eager to learn and love to work. They take pride in their work products and want to be successful in achieving their goals!

My class wants to give EVERY STUDENT A VOICE and access to communication!

Our mission is to give students and classrooms better access to communication while learning job skills of our own! My students are using their skills and interests to help serve our school community. The students will put their interest in computers, tools and technology, routine, and making deliveries to use by making students the picture symbols they need to communicate and participate in their school day!

In order to give every student a voice, we need consistent access to materials that enable us to make the picture symbols that students and classrooms need! My students will thrive in learning vocational skills while also contributing to the needs of others!

My Project

We are focusing on developing functional vocational skills for our students! In collaboration with speech and occupational therapy, my class is learning to create picture symbols to help other students communicate and thrive in their classrooms! In order to be successful, we need the materials necessary to process a picture symbol order through seven different work stations.

We will help to ensure that every student has a voice and access to the communication symbols they need every day!

The students will utilize technology, including computer software, the Epson WorkForce Supertank Printer and laminating supplies to help their school community achieve access to communication for all!

The students use computer software to create an order. Next, they print it, laminate it, cut the symbols out, apply velcro to each symbol and then deliver the order. This helps my students work on vocational and communication skills as well as helps our school community!
