Help me give my students the Lakeshore Flex-Space Comfy Soft Rocker to complete my take a break space (calming corner). The rocking motion from this cool chair will make the take a break space inviting and soothing.

My Project

My Superstar First Graders have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. I feel like their mental health, emotional regulation, and fears have been affected negatively due to this significant traumatic event. Every year, I want my Superstars and I to create a safe, respectful, and responsible learning environment for each whole child to thrive and learn. I am wanting to create "The Superstar Calming Corner" to help with emotional regulation, comforting, and motivating all my Superstar First Graders. I have asked for a soothing rocking chair, many sensory items for our take a break basket (sensory water beads, magnet building blocks, and fidget toys), 20 wobble cushions for sensory kids to promote active learning when doing reading/math/etc. on the floor (to provide flexible seating), and lots of books to further discussions about social emotional learning, moving intrinsically through the Zones of Regulation, and that mistakes are opportunities to learn. Thank you very much for this opportunity and support in helping develop and positively impacting my Superstar First Graders.
